OTHER ACTIVITIES
TREKKING
We organize different jungle treks, from relatively short walks through the bush and ending up by a clear-water river where you can take a dip, to larger treks, some involving some off-road 4×4 action too, weather permitting.
If you wish to embark on a longer trek, our seasoned guide can take you across the pristine jungle of 1,300 hectares of ‘intangible zone’ located west of our lodge. This area is home to more than 1,000 bird species and, with a bit of luck, you can spot caimans, deer, tapirs and other native animals. This area is also home to ocelots, pumas and jaguars, but you’d be very lucky to spot one of these, as hiding is their expertise. A great variety of flowers, butterflies and frogs, plus the endless types of exotic insects are also there for you to come across.
VISITS TO WATERFALLS
You can also visit the nearby waterfalls and get a good break from the heat by jumping in and standing beneath the fall.
A picnic and a dip in the calm and refreshing waters of the Araza River, which runs down from the heights of the Andes and into the jungle, is quite enjoyable.

FISHING
Fishing in the Araza or Manire rivers can also be easily organized. You can practice this through ‘catch and release’, or, if you want to keep a large specimen, we can later cook it for you in our BBQ (smaller fish should always be released though). Amazonian river fish are particularly tasty.
